A few weeks ago "Bev" got a call from the family of the late helen & asked if she would like to take the bell to wembley (there is a pic of asa & helen goin round the pitch after the famous 2-1win in 76,pic is below)
So Bev & the Clan of "Bluebells" head off to wembley to relive 76 & use the Talisman (the bell) to help our boys to victory. Many many blues took piccies on Phones etc & was all over faceache & twatter. What happened next is TYPICAL of David Camerons jobsworth silly petty childish rules & regs- DO THESE PEOPLE KNOW WHO HELEN WAS??!
Bev takes up the story - The score is 0-1 to sunderland .....its half time
At the half time whistle at Wembley I made my way up the stairs to check on the off spring and the baby sis sat futher up the stand and get my Cup Final brew. ..There I saw my mates brother.... He held the bell up buzzing that he had spotted me at the match and delighted that the fans Crown Jewels had made the trip to the Smoke ....Within seconds Head of Security and two stewards were stood in front of us....They wanted to take the bell off me for me having in my possession an offensive weapon !!...To the dozen or so blues who saw this happen, when I tell fellow fans of this incident I have called you collectively " The Defenders of the Bell"...Every single one of them stood in front of me and I heard several heated comments from them "You cant do that !"...."Do you know what this bell means to the fans of Manchester City Football Club ?".."You cant remove part of our history from this match !"...etc etc with a few swear words thrown in as well....Realising the officials couldn't see me I looked right towards the row of seats next to me ...Bluebell Glam had spotted what was going on and was asking the City fans that were sat down to stand up please, which they all they did watching the scene unfold ...That's when I legged it straight across the row of seats and down the stairway !...We headed for the ladies for a team talk...I removed my red and black First Advice shirt ( I had my Bluebell on Tour T-shirt on underneath) and wrapped the bell up in it put and Jackies City cap on...We couldn't return to our seats using the stairway we had entered or exited from ...The Head stewards were on their radio's looking for us !!..Jackie and I did a 4 block, 2 stairways and 25 row detour to get me and the bell safely back to my seat for the start of the second half...The rest is history....I've posted this to ask if any blues or bluebells know of any of the "Defenders of the Bell" please could you say thank you from me ....xx
There is our Bev with the legendary bell.A true Man City fan 100% Bleeds Blue. Most people wouldnt get up to let you take your seat let alone traverse several levels of that maze to hide & be able to use the "artifact" A Brilliant lady :)
